A PLACE TO WINE, A PLACE TO DINE

The James Joyce Story…

Gerard and Anne Curran, immigrants from Ireland, opened The James Joyce in 1997 in the Old Molson Bank Building at 114 – 8th Avenue, Calgary.

Hospitality and authenticity were the key ingredients as they created a home away from home with all of the tastes and feel of a traditional Pub in Ireland. Winning many awards throughout the years for their food, the Currans have worked hard at providing new and innovative menu items while moving with the ever changing landscape of Irish cuisine.  Guinness is always the go to drink but the collection of Irish whiskeys is well worth investigating, along with their list of premium crafted beers and cocktails.

Not just a pub, The James Joyce is a mini museum to all things Irish and is filled with artifacts and antiques from many Counties in Ireland and is worth spending some extra time to take everything in. Although, these days, take out deliveries seems to be the new way of eating, and once again The James Joyce has changed direction by compiling a variety of their customers favourite meals and drinks (Including Guinness and wine) to enjoy in the comfort of your home along with a ready to bake McCaffrey’s Irish Wheaten Bread.
